Ranger's Baseball in Arlington, Texas

Last weekend we were invited to go with some friends from church to a Texas Ranger's baseball game in Arlington, Texas. We of course said yes! It was pretty much get on I-35 and head north for five hours.

We left after church on Sunday morning and one thing to keep in mind is this was on July 5th and there were a bazillion people also going I-35 north. This five hour drive turned into six and half hours and we are still not sure why. There was rain around Waco and I know that Texas is in a drought so we thought maybe everyone was slowing down some coming to a complete stop to admire it??

Of course, there is a lot to see on I-35 and in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Here are a few things that I was able to snap pictures of:

Taco Bell Billboard
Hot sauce anyone?

Italian cars! Varooom!

Italy, Texas
Speaking of Italian about a Texas town called Italy!

Megachurch 1
Not only was there one but there was.....

Megachurch 2
...TWO mega-churches not even five miles from each other.

Then we arrived in Arlington and the stadium. But the Ranger's stadium took a backseat for a moment when we all saw the new Dallas Cowboy's stadium.

New Cowboy Statium

It cost $1.1 billion to build and it seats 80,000 people but can expand to seat almost 100,000. The cheapest tickets will be $590 for 10 games and the most expensive will be $3,400 for 10 games plus $150,000 seat option. Seat option means that the seat you pick can be yours for 30 years. Hey! They will even finance that for you. They will not have single ticket options so the only people who get to go will be the ones who have season tickets. I just don't understand that.

In all reality I was more excited to see this than the Cowboy's stadium.

Green Grass

We are in a drought in south Texas and haven't seen green grass in awhile. Finally, after all this we made it into the Ranger's ballpark to see the game we came to see.

Ranger Ballpark

Let me tell you about the seats we had that should put the Cowboys to shame with how much they charge. We paid $25 each to sit in the All-You-Can-Eat-Seats. They were in the middle level out of three levels, so not too close and not too far.

Ranger Field

The price included all you could eat hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, nachos, popcorn, peanuts, and soda. According to ballpark prices, where a hot dog was $4.50!!, Frankie determined that between the two of us it would have worked out to be $84 just in food!!

Ballpark Peanuts

The Rangers did win the game, but someone's heart was won there as well. I didn't think people really did this but if you will please turn to the screen.

Major League Proposal

Awwwwhh....We didn't hear the answer but let's all assume it was yes.

We all had a good time and hope to do it again sometime! Thank you to our friends for inviting us!
