Live Oak Drive Thru - Uvalde, Texas

Frankie and I were watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel channel and were surprised to hear them mention Uvalde, Texas. Normally Andrew Zimmern eats very gross things in foreign countries, so for them to mention a place to eat in a town near by us was strange. He was at a restaurant called Live Oak.

We had to check it out!

We had never heard of it, so I googled it and found where it was located. We go to Uvalde a few times a months, so on one of our trips over we decided to eat there.

It is not much to look at on the outside and this is even an improvement from the google map picture! First my more recent picture then the Google map picture for comparison.

Inside is about the same as outside.

What the inside/outside lacks the food MORE than makes up for it! I ordered the brisket and chicken fajita gorditas. It normally comes with beans, but I opted for double rice in place of the beans. It was around $5 and Frankie got nachos for around the same price.

Everything was delicious! We will definitely be going back soon! So if you find yourself in Uvalde, Texas be sure to stop by and eat at:
