Why don't these words rhyme??
monkey and donkey
teen and been
laughter and slaughter
sword and word
pint and mint
water and later
howling and bowling
comb and tomb
gone, done, and bone
blew and sew
prove and love
sword and word
Silly English language and all its nuances!!
Also, does anyone know what it is called when this happens? One of my word nerd students told me once (love ya Danny girl) but now I can't remember.
